Whilst Red Weekly would often carry full page articles, double page spreads and four page supplements, there was a feeling that more space was needed to develop theoretical issues in depth.

So, from October 1976 the monthly Red Weekly supplement Battle of Ideas ran for six issues as a four page insert.

The content of these supplements was wide-ranging and included an historical look at the politics of Gerry Healy and the Workers Revolutionary Party (no1) presented below, a polemic with Marxism Today on proletarian revolution and bourgeois democracy (no3), the rise of Scottish nationalism (no5) and revolutionary electoral strategy (no6).

Here is issue 1- The Rise of Gerry Healy

The rest will follow over the next few days!

I’m not sure if this material has been posted, but I would be most interested in the IMG’s polemics with Militant. I heard there was a pamphlet on Irleans as well. Thanx!
