The document presented here was written by the late Peter Gowan (pictured speaking) and was addressed to the membership of Tendency A within the IMG in the mid-1970s. The document attempts to draw out the lessons of aspects of the history of the organisation including the significance of the change of leadership in 1972.  As so often with Peter Gowan’s work it was an attempt to avoid simplistic analyses and is a document that repays careful reading for anyone trying to understand the IMG in the late 60s and 1970s. Red Mole Rising will return to the significance of the 1972 events.
