Students, youth and the turn to industry
To round off our look at student and youth perspectives we present here the November 1979 International Youth Information Bulletin produced by the Young Socialist Alliance- youth section of the (US) Socialist Workers Party then in political sympathy with the Fourth International.
The key text is the report adopted by the YSA on turning the organisation to industry- ie encouraging supporters to take jobs in key blue-collar industries along similar lines to the strategy then being pursued by the SWP.
This is followed by an article from the IMG Youth Commission outlining the sharp turn towards youth then underway with the launch of the Revolution newspaper and the attempts to build an organisation of revolutionary youth around it.
Further reports detail the work of FI sections in France, Spain, New Zealand and the Netherlands.
